Mod Podge, Smodge Pod!

If you have not had the honor of meeting Mod Podge, I suggest you do so in the neat future!  This stuff has become my best friend while crafting.

You can find it at any craft store, or department store for less than six dollars.  I love to use the gloss!

Thanksgiving is a time to the Thankful!  I made a beautiful block centerpiece for my entertainment center, for Thanksgiving.  I recycled a box of old "ABC" wooden blocks my son had, and couldn't be happier with the turnout!  The whole project cost me less than six dollars.  Don't have blocks?  No problem!  You can find them at Michael's (26 for $3.99 for the small ones, 99cents each for the medium)  or any Wal-Mart (Granimals brand 50 for $12.00)
Below are the instructions, enjoy!

Supplies needed:
Scrapbook paper (any colors, patterns you want)
Scissors
Mod Podge
Sponge brush or paint brush
Blocks

Instructions:
Trace block onto paper to cut out squares.  (each block needs six squares)
Use a thin layer of Mod Podge on each side of the block, and stick cut paper to it.
Continue until all sides are covered.  (use scissors to trim any excess)
When all blocks are done, take your brush and put a thin layer of Mod Podge over all sides to give it a glossy look.
Put stickers to spell out what you want, or stencil, and any corresponding decor to attached to the blocks

EASY AS 1-2-3!

Another item I made for Thanksgiving is a "Thankful" wall art.  This was a fun project, because my kiddos were able to draw pictures of things they were thankful for, and clip them to it!

Below are the steps to make this cute wall art!

I found a unfinished, wooden board that I wanted at Hobby Lobby for $5.  I had leftover scrapbook paper from the block craft, and was able to use that.  This entire project cost me eight dollars.  Not bad considering you can't even buy Thanksgiving wall art at Wal-Mart for that price!

Supplies needed:
4 clothes pins
Scrapbook paper
Wooden board
Wood stain
Black acrylic paint
Stencil or pre-cut letters
Mod Podge
Sponge brush or regular brush

Instructions:
Trace and cut your scrapbook paper into the shape of your letters
Use the Mod Podge to glue the paper to your letters
When the letters dry, apply a coat of glossy Mod Podge
Stain or paint your plague
Paint your clothes pins
When all is try, glue the letters to your plague (I used hot glue)
You can glue the clothes pins directly to the plague, or use ribbon to string them below.

Have your family draw pictures of things they are thankful for, or add photos, and you are done!

-Peace, love and all things Sassy!
